221 Main Street – Imperial Hotel Park City, Utah The Imperial Hotel is one of the more revered buildings in this mining town, anchoring the top of Main Street. It has housed thousands of people over the years, and possibly some ghosts as well. Updating necessitated careful attention. The house/office/former hotel was just completed and will soon find new residents in it’s freshly updated walls. Historic preservation played a key part in the renovation. Close conversations with the Historic Board and the City, including how high a historic handrail would be, have resulted in an accurate rendition of the original building. The walls are solid now, the windows keep the wind out and the materials inside have been upgraded but the Imperial Hotel is standing as honest and true as it always has.
